Tree Trimming |
| We have some so-called "miniature" fruit trees on the back
of our property. Well, over the years they have grown way too high for me to
easily pick the fruit. So, this fall (October 2003) I decided to prune them
a bit. The problem was, I'm only six feet tall and the trees were up around 15 feet tall. So, I got one of them there tree trimming gadgets that extends way out and went to work. Unfortunately, these devices can only cut small limbs and after I had cut all the small limbs, there was still some very big limbs left that I simply could not cut. So, I toddled on down to my local hardware store and bought me one of them there electric chain saws and a big roll of yellow-colored duct tape. With a little work I was able to duck tape my electric chain saw to the end of my tree trimming extended pole and boy was I ever in business!! I had The Red Head stand by to pull the plug in case I got into trouble, but everything went smooth. Duct tape is truly a miracle product. Yellow duct tape... who would have thought!! And The Red Head was a great safety back-up since I had to duct tape down the switch on the chain saw. Now, my trees are trimmed and I'm a happy camper!! The electric chain saw was light enough in weight to make all of this possible. If it had been a bit heavier, I don't think I could have controlled it out on the end of that pole. Notice the nice, quite, field out behind me in these photos. You know... that is such a nice place, people are just dying to get in there! Oh, shut up, you're just mad because the voices don't talk to you! |
