ColorBAT is proud to offer web site space to the Aqua-Terra Club of Central Pennsylvania.

These pictures were taken during the Club's visit to "Olde Fogie's Bed & Breakfast", July 21, 2007, Saturday, 2:00pm. We are grateful to Biz Fogie, the owner, for hosting our Club and sharing her beautiful water garden & pool with us.

Double-click on any picture to see a larger version of it. If any Club Member would like a CD with
hi-res versions of these images, just let me know. You can right-click on any image (and go to Picture Properities) to obtain the file number of that image if you are going to request a CD with hi-res files of any of these images.

Notice how the fish gather around the children's feet hoping to be fed.

The large rocks act as a barrier between the shallow, wading pool and the deeper swimming pool.

This is a long view of the kids playing in the pond just as it really happened.

This is the same picture with a little blue color added to the water. Isn't Photoshop wonderful! <grin>

Biz Fogie telling us about the building of the pond

The pond is about 40' x 80' and contains about 85,000 gallons of water. A natural spring constantly feeds
fresh water into the pond. An overflow allows
excess water to pass to a near by creek.

This is the one and only skimmer in-takes. There
are three pumps in the "house". The pumps feed
the three waterfalls on the far end of the pond.

The lilies are in the original pots and have never
been re-potted since the pond was built 7-years
ago in 2000.

This is looking down into the skimmer collection basket.

This is one of the three water falls with the top
removed so you can see some of the filter material.

This has got to be one of the most unusual ponds-swimming pools that we have ever seen. Biz Fogie
tells us that in order for her B&B customers to be allowed to swim in the pool, she is required by the State of Pennsylvania to have the water tested for
E-coli EVERY WEEK. The testing costs her
around $16.00 for each test.
