Trip to Maryland Aquatic Nurseries, Jarrettsville, MD - www.marylandaquatic.com
Program: Madie Cobes has planned a "field trip" to visit this nursery, including a guided tour (depending on the number of people) If we have enough people going, the Club will rent a van for transportation - estimated cost $100 per person (otherwise, we'll carpool). We will meet at the Giant Super Market in Leola at 7:45am. planning to arrive around 9:30am. We'll have our tour and time for shopping. On the return trip, we plan to stop for lunch.

They have a large pond and will provide us with a talk.

Directions: From Columbia, take Rt. 441 North to Rt. 743, turn Right. Proceed to Maytown. Go 3/4 around the traffic circle and head West on Stackstown Rd. Farm is on the left less than a mile outside of Maytown.

Don't forget to bring lawn chairs.

Annual Pot Luck Get-to-Gether, at Carl & Louise Harnish's home & water garden. The address is: 3162 Anchor Road, Washington Boro, PA 17582, phone 717-872-6383. Remember - this is a "pot luck" get-to-gether - so everyone try to bring something good to eat! If in doubt, give Louise a call! The Club will provide a main dish (meat) and beverages.

The club last visited the Harnish home on August This will be the last "pond visitation" for the Club this season.

 ATTENTION:

On Saturday June 23 Jim Pontz was rushed to Lancaster General Hospital after collapsing. After a battery of tests it was determined that Jim had two blocked arteries and needed double bypass surgery. Jim did well in surgery and was sent home on July 5th. Jim was recovering well and was slated to return to work at the beginning of July, however, last Friday July the 22nd Jim was re-addmitted to the hospital where he underwent a second surgery for an irregular heart beat. Jim is again home as of Tuesday the 26th and is doing well. At this point it is unclear as to when Jim will return to work.
